John R. Dallas, Jr.
CAO (Chief Alignment Officer)
Hillview Partners Network LLC

Opening remarks presented by a meeting chair to introduce Mr. Dallas as their keynote speaker:

"Today we welcome hearing breakthrough thought leadership of John Dallas, head of Hillview Partners Network.  John served as president of five technology-based service companies based in New York, Washington, DC, and Chicago.

Within the past several years he was named one of Chicago's Top 100 Leaders in Technology.  Shortly thereafter John founded Hillview, a pacesetting executive coaching and consulting firm carving a new niche in organizational development — get ready, this is a mouthful — "preemptive, prescriptive and predictive strategic team alignment."  Let me say that again . . .

His earlier CEO position was with Chicago Title and Trust, serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of Chicago Title Credit, a wholly owned subsidiary.  Before joining Chicago Title, John was President of CreditComm Services LLC (renamed, Intersections, Inc., a Nasdaq company) in Fairfax, Virginia (DC area).  Three other CEO posts were in New York: Group Concepts Capital Corp, Market Access Resources Corp., and National Business Intelligence Corp. (renamed, ETX Corporation).  Four of the five companies he headed were acquired and one eventually went public.  Earlier middle-management posts were in New York and Pittsburgh, his hometown.

Currently under contract to The Chicago Urban League — now solely an economic development organization — John and his colleagues provide alignment coaching, alignment consulting, and other alignment support services to the top 20 entrepreneurial ventures the League is intentionally accelerating to next levels of growth.  The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, BP, Chase Bank, Fifth-Third Bank, Accenture, and other leading organizations are also involved in this breakthrough program to further energize Chicago’s emerging entrepreneurial economy.  The program is slated for national expansion.

John’s entrepreneurial roots run deep.  While majoring in journalism at Pittsburgh’s Duquesne University, John started a student-run publicity service for local nonprofit groups, including Junior Achievement, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts, Youth Guidance, and others.  In 1972 a regional advertising agency bought the shoestring business, and at age 22 John was named their Vice President, Public Relations.  Shortly thereafter he was recruited to move to New York City, where for 20 years he led three pacesetting service companies.  In New York he continued his studies at Columbia University.

John’s book, Your Alignment Assignment should be released in mid- to late 2009.  He is also working on a Chicago television program to feature real-world behind-the-scenes interviews with CEOs of breakthrough entrepreneurial companies.

Among numerous volunteer initiatives, John serves on the Advisory Board for the Leadership Arts Certificate Program of The University of Chicago Graham School (formerly Advisory Board Chair).  He is in his fifth year as a frequent guest lecturer at DePaul University, and a top-ranked keynote speaker for companies, associations and professional organizations.  John is known around the country for his laser focus on his speciality: alignment.

John is Chair and moderator of the Chicago Thought Leadership Forum at the Gleacher Center.  He and colleagues are founding the Institute of Strategic Alignment Professionals (ISAP).  With a lifetime of servant leadership in Presbyterian churches in Pittsburgh and New York, he was also elected and ordained as an Elder for Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago.  Over more than three decades, he served on many boards, committees, task forces, and panels.

Before today's meeting I was told by one of his friends John has all intentions to never retire, at least not before his 100th birthday.  John, we hope you continue long after that milestone!

John, welcome.  We're thrilled you are here.  Now, tell us what we need to know about strategic team alignment.  We're going to be hanging our future on what you have to say to us.  No pressure is to be inferred, of course.

John, for the next two hours the floor is yours.  We could not be in better hands."
